The inquest touching the death of Daniel McGlinchy, who died at Peak Hill recently from burns caused by blasting powder becoming ignited, has been concluded. The jury returned the following verdict:-"That deceased came to his death from shock, the result of burns received in No. 7 shaft of Peak Hill Company's mine, such death being hastened by the careless treatment and neglect of Dr. Fullard. POLSON Andrew, d 13 Aug 1901, 50yrs, The Patch GM, Peak Hill, Occ:- Miner, Cause: A fall of earth. Murchison Advocate 17 August 1901, A miner named Andrew Polson working at the Patch had his leg broken by a fall of earth in the stopes, last week. He died on Monday last, death being mostly due to shock. An inquest was held at which a verdict of accidental death was returned. No blame being attached to anyone. Polson was. 50 years of age, and we learn he leaves a widow in New Zealand, whom he had great hopes of rejoining shortly. The cause: of death was rather singular as the deceased only had a slight abrasion to the scalp and a broken leg It is thought an inrush of blood to the brain caused death.

PURCELL Peter, died 31 Jan 1926, age 49yrs Reg:- Peak Hill 1/1926

Daily Telegraph and North Murchison and Pilbarra Gazette 5 February 1926
Peak Hill Prattle.
Our first death at Peak Hill since March, 1923, occurred on 31st January, when Peter Purcell, late number 5457, 11th. Battalion, 3rd Brigade, A.I.F., died suddenly from heat apoplexy. Deceased passed away so quietly that brothers were scarcely aware of the crisis. Peter was a very quiet man, and much esteemed by us all. Sympathy for his brothers, Ned and Paddy was felt by everyone The funeral, under direction of D. Campbell and Co., Meekatharra, took place next morning. Five motor cars with about 30 residents formed the cortege. The Peak Hill ladies sent 5 impromptu wreaths of immortells and green foliage. Deceased was a native of Kilkenny, Ireland, and was aged about 50 years. Mr. W. Stalley read the burial service.

WILTON Catherine : Murchison Times and Day Dawn Gazette 4 June 1898, It is with great regret that I have to chronicle the death of Mrs Catherine Wilton aged 37yrs . She was recently confined, and contracted fever to which she succumbed, notwithstanding the most careful attention. She leaves a large family of children and a husband to mourn her loss, with whom deep sympathy is expressed. Mrs. Wilton was the proprietress of our principal boarding house and was universally esteemed. Her funeral took place today and was largely attended, the funeral service at the grave being read by the Rev Father Drayne.
