second son of John Louis & Edith Rose (nee Howell) McGinniss of Kunanalling
Born Tasmania. Great-uncle of Meryl Watson

Frank enlisted 27 July 1915; left WA by ship 13 Oct 1915; arrived  Suez 2 Nov 1916; trained at Heliopolis camp then Tel-el-Kebir camp for 5 months; went to the trenches on 4 April 1916; wounded Messines (Belgium) 27 Jun 1916; repatriated to England for medical treatment and furlough 1 Jun 1916-14 Oct 1916; returned to France 15 Oct 1916; KIA Battle of Flers, Western Front, France 3 Nov 1916, buried at Picardy (no known grave), he was aged 24yrs. According to the notes, his body had lain out in No Man's Land for several days before being buried.
